Anoma A1 Optical: Time as Illusion

Anoma A1 Optical: Time as Illusion

Anoma is a young British watch brand that’s turning heads for all the right reasons. Their latest release, the A1 Optical, takes the same unique triangle-inspired case shape from their debut model and gives it a bold new twist. The 39×38 mm case still wears comfortably thanks to its compact, lug-less design, but now it’s paired with a wild optical dial made up of 50 tiny triangles that catch the light from every angle. It’s not just about looks either, it runs on a Swiss automatic movement and has all the everyday specs you’d expect, including 50 m of water resistance. What really sets the A1 Optical apart is the dial. It’s inspired by classic Op Art and has this almost hypnotic effect when it hits the light, definitely a conversation starter. It comes in copper or silver finishes, limited to just 300 pieces, and includes a piece of artwork by the dial’s designer, Adam Fuhrer. At around $2,900, it’s not cheap, but if you’re into design-forward indie watches that feel like wearable art, this one’s worth a closer look. Pre-orders open August 7th.
