The Ming 37.02 Monolith

The Ming 37.02 Monolith

The Ming 37.02 Monolith is a watch that lives up to its name, it’s sleek, dark, and minimal in the most deliberate way possible. Building on the original 37.02’s design, the Monolith trades the open, airy feeling of the earlier model for a more moody, all black interpretation. Its case is coated in black DLC (diamond like carbon) over grade 5 titanium, giving it a deep, matte finish that practically absorbs light. The dial keeps Ming’s signature layered look, but now in gradients of black and grey, creating depth without relying on color or shine. The hands are skeletonized and coated with SuperLumiNova X1, so while the face looks stealthy in daylight, it lights up clearly at night. What makes the Monolith more than just a “black version” is the execution. Every detail is crisp from the fine brushing on the case to the subtly curved sapphire crystal that distorts the dial edges just enough to feel intentional. It is powered by a Schwarz Etienne micro rotor movement, which is visible through the caseback and finished with a dark anthracite coating to match the overall tone. At 38mm, it wears comfortably on the wrist, striking that perfect balance between understated and striking. With only 250 pieces made, it is aimed at collectors who appreciate restrained design and small batch craftsmanship, and yes, it sold out within minutes.
